It seemed appropriate, for my first entry, to simply state what this blog is all about, and how it came into being.
For a couple of years now, I have been feeling as though God is calling me into some sort of evangilization. Putting my finger on just what it was, and how I could go about doing it, has been very difficult. I believe that God has given me certain gifts – public speaking and writing skills – which he wants me to put to good use. However, as a mother of three with a successful network marketing business, I just don’t have a whole lot of time to perform the research necessary to write the books I want to write, and I have no idea -short of writing a book – how to get into “evangelical” public speaking.
My husband, an IT geek (but not at all the “geeky” sort), has been telling me for quite some time that I need to start blogging. He thinks that’s where I’m going to make my fortune. I kept telling him that if I was going to blog, it would have to be about something I’m really passionate about – in particular, my faith.
Finally, one night several weeks ago, I was praying the Rosary with my oldest son, Zachary. It came to me that, rather than writing a book, I could start a blog in which I would record some of the thoughts that have come to me while praying the Rosary and meditating on the life Christ. I have prayed about this quite a bit since then, trying to discern whether this is really what God wants me to do. As the pull towards it has continued to get stronger and a few other little “God things” have happened, I feel confident that this is part of God’s will for me.
So, here’s my blog mission statement, which is still very much a work in progress:
To bring all people, men and women, Catholic, Protestant, and unbelieving, closer to our Lord Jesus Christ, through the powerful intercession of His mother, Mary.
Like the mission statement, the whole blog is a work in progress. My husband will add some design elements to it as time permits.
It is my hope that you will enjoy this blog and visit again and again. I plan to post daily, or close to it. My primary postings will be Rosary meditations, which I hope will encourage readers to pray the Rosary daily and help them to meditate more deeply on Christ’s life, and also to apply Christ’s teachings and examples, as well as the examples of His Blessed Mother, Mary, to their own lives. I will have a secondary blog page where I will post additional thoughts, life events, etc. as things come to me that I want to share.
May this blog, above all else, be pleasing to our great God in Heaven.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
